Metrology institute

The Institute of Metrology, established in 1995, is an academic subdivision engaged in scientific, expert and consulting activities in the fields of legal and industrial metrology, and measurement engineering.

GOAL

To organize, coordinate, and carry out fundamental and applied scientific research as well as experimental development work in metrology and measurement engineering, taking into account the needs of clients.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES AND AREAS OF ACTIVITY

  • Continuously improve the effectiveness of the quality management system developed in accordance with the LST EN ISO 9001:2015 standard;
  • Participate in the development of the Lithuanian metrological system by creating the technical, scientific, and legal framework for standards;
  • Provide scientific-technical support and expert services to industrial companies and organizations according to their needs;
  • Ensure the development of measurement traceability, dissemination of new scientific knowledge in the study process and to society;
  • Develop new measurement systems and technologies for solving various metrological tasks in science and industry;
  • Train metrology specialists by organizing non-formal education courses.

The Institute of Metrology works on the self-declaration principle in accordance with the standard LST EN ISO / IEC 17025: 2005.

Training courses for metrology inspectors and metrologists (TMNT520062)

The program is intended for persons who want to acquire metrology inspector and metrologist qualification.

After completing the course program, certificates are issued for a period of 5 years.

Program duration: 120 academic hours.
Frequency of courses: a group of 10 people.
