The aim of the project – development of universal-purpose adaptive control systems for biotechnological processes and software for their realization that is suitable for implementation in standard industrial controllers. During the implementation of the project, the following activities are planned: establishment of methodology for development of adaptive control systems for biotechnological processes, development and investigation of direct and indirect, fuzzy sets- and artificial neural networks-based adaptive control algorithms for biotechnological processes, application of adaptive control algorithms in control systems of the main process parameters (specific growth rate, oxygen uptake rate, carbon dioxide evolution rate, pH and temperature of cultivation medium, dissolved oxygen concentration); software development and implementation for realization of adaptive systems and algorithms, testing, tuning and experimental investigation of the systems for control of typical biotechnological processes. These activities are carried out with the aim to apply the principles of adaptive control to improve stability, productivity and product quality of the pilot-scale and industrial biotechnological processes.
