The faculty offers high standard bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies and research in the fields of renewable energy, robotics systems as well as electrical and electronics engineering.

The Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was founded on 2 January 2014 after the reorganisation of two faculties: the Faculty of Telecommunications and Electronics and the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering. Our research community at the KTU Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has a proven track record of successful cooperation with local and international businesses in creating innovative and versatile solutions, conducting relevant research and providing ideas for improvement. Any theoretical knowledge obtained is instantly applied in practice not only during laboratory work but also through a variety of projects, studies or contracted activity. The Faculty highly appreciates student initiative and creativity, and aims to make studies not only useful but also highly compelling.
1947 – establishment of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Kaunas State University
1950 – Kaunas State University was renamed to Kaunas Polytechnic Institute
1964 – the Faculty of Telecommunications and Electronics was established at Kaunas Polytechnic Institute
1967 – the Faculty of Automation was established at Kaunas Polytechnic Institute
1988 – the Faculty of Electrical Engineering was reorganised to Faculty of Energetics.
1993 – Faculties of Automation and Energetics of Kaunas University of Technology were merged and the new faculty was titled the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation
2005 – Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation was renamed to Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering
2014 – Faculties of Telecommunications and Electronics and Electrical and Control Engineering were reorganised, and the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established
