The aim of the project is to evaluate and increase the potential of electrical energy storage systems for residential buildings in order to maximize the benefits of this new technology, especially taking into account the specifics of the Baltic Sea region.
Technical specification:
Creation of specialised models for accurate forecasting of the electricity demand and supply from renewable energy sources related to the selected specific areas.
Creation and investigation of the energy management profiles, allowing to maximize the utilization of renewable energy resources, optimise the supply from DSO, exploit the merits of energy storage systems and prevent the fluctuations of output power at the consumer end.
Development and investigation of HLCA, allowing participation of an energy sub-system with a large number of BESS based micro-grids in the DSO balancing market as well as energy supply during the peak load of the DSO
Analysis of BESS operating conditions in various Baltic Sea Region scenarios and elaboration upon the models and the HLCA, using parameters and performance profiles of specific BESSs as well as other operational data.

Project results:
Obtained results: prediction models of electricity consumption and production profiles were created, algorithms for optimizing the characteristics of renewable energy sources with energy accumulators for the residential sector were created, management models of energy accumulators were created. The results were published in three scientific publications and presented at two scientific conferences.
