On 29 September, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE) hosted the traditional presentation of the autumn semester scholarships established by the faculty’s long-standing sponsor, Litgrid, Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator.
The scholarships were personally awarded by Paulius Martinaitis, Head of Relay Protection and Automation Division at Litgrid and a KTU graduate.
Throughout the autumn semester, six first-year and four second-year bachelor’s students will receive monthly scholarships of EUR 375.
A total of 48 students from the fields of Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, and Electronics Engineering applied and participated in the selection process.
“At the beginning of your studies, you do not need to know exactly which area of the energy sector you want to work in. What matters is asking questions, exploring opportunities, and discovering what genuinely interests you. Sometimes a single lecture, internship, or conversation with an engineer can help you find your direction,” says P. Martinaitis.
He also expressed his hope that he would meet some of the scholarship recipients again in the future as colleagues, working together on projects and tackling real-world engineering challenges.
