Overseas Companies Praise Students from KTU Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Important | 2015-10-02

It is not a secret that an increasing number of students from the KTU’s Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering tend to use the opportunity to complete their internships in globally renowned international companies all over the world. Once their internships are over, some of those students receive not only praise from the company managers but also invitations to work at the same enterprises upon the completion of studies.

An internship abroad is a great opportunity to gain practical experience whilst working for the most prominent and technologically advanced providers all over the world. But professional training is not the only reason to leave your country. According to Harvard Business Review, the time spent living and working abroad, especially at a younger age, allows to appreciate different cultures and alternative ideas and helps to develop valuable global connections vital for a successful career in the future.

“I actively encourage all our students to complete internships abroad. We are delighted that more and more of them choose to do so. And what is even more exciting, students, who are successful, often stay to work for the same companies and serve as great ambassadors for our Faculty,” shared the Vice Dean of Studies at the faculty Assoc. Prof. Alma Derviniene.

One of such ex-students and ambassadors is Darius Drakšas. He is now an Alumni of the Faculty and the Technical Director of the Germany-based enterprise EnOcean. The company has recently welcomed one of the faculty graduates Edvinas Marcinkevičius for an internship. Drakšas has agreed to share the company’s views and impressions with regard to the young professional.

“Edvinas tackles every task constructively. He was exceptionally fast when it comes to learning the ropes. In comparison to other interns, he leaves a very positive impression, especially in terms of consistency and documentation. His technical know-how is truly impressive. In fact, he has even managed to impress one of our senior engineers working in the similar field. I am confident that Edvinas will be a brilliant engineer who will consistently and systematically reach all of his goals,” shared Draksas, the Technical Director of EnOcean .

The German EnOcean designs patented energy-harvesting wireless technologies. Headquartered in Oberhaching near Munich, this global provider operates across multiple markets in Europe, the US, Canada, the Middle East and other regions.
